Without enrolment not allowed to online application filling, only enrolled candidates can fill the application. The Student who apply for the GATE 2014 may enroll before 01/10/2013 and may submit online application on or before 03/10/2013. The Gate Admit Card which is important, in order to enter into Exam hall will be available for Downloading at http://gate.iitkgp.ac.in/gate2014/ from 18/12/2013 and the GATE 2014 Online Examination will be held Between 1st Feb and 2nd Mar 2014 and finally the Results of GATE 2014 will be announced on 28/03/2014GATE Organized by whom ?
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and other seven Indian Institutes of Technology as following
IITs at Bombay,IITs at Delhi,IITs at Guwahati, IITs at Kanpur, IITs at Kharagpur, IITs at Madras and IITs at Roorkee jointly administer the conduct of GATE 2014. All the operations regarding to the GATE 2014 in each of the 8 zones across India are managed by a zonal Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Office at the IITs or IISc. The Organizing Institute is responsible for the end-to-end process and coordination among the administering 8 zonal Institutes. Every year The GATE exam will be conducted different Institutes among all 8 Institutes. This IIT Kharagpur is Organizing the GATE 2014.
Eligibility Criteria for GATE EXAM 2014 :-
Education : All Graduates or Post Graduates are eligible who have completed their graduation in the following Programs/Courses
Professional Society Examinations(equivalent to B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch)
Int. M. Sc/
Int. B.S.-M.S.
Int. M.E./M.Tech or Dual Degree (after Diploma or 10+2)
Int. M.E/ M.Tech (Post BSc)
M.Sc./M.A./ MCA or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in Science
B.E./B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Pharm.

Pattern of Question Papers :-
In all the papers, there will be a total of 65 questions which are carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks are in General Aptitude (GA).
- General Aptitude (GA) Questions 15 Marks
- GG (Geology and Geophysics) Paper 25 Marks
- XE Paper (Engineering Sciences) 35 marks
- XL Paper (Life Sciences) 25 marks
In 2014 GATE Examination, A new paper "Ecology and Evolution" is introduced. GATE Examinations for all the 22 papers will be conducted by an ONLINE Computer Based Test.
Marking Scheme GATE 2014 :-
1/3 marks will be deducted for 1-mark multiple-choice questions which is answered wrong.
Likewise, 2/3 marks will be deducted for 2-marks multiple-choice questions which are answered wrong. There is no negative marking for numerical answer type questions.
